UPDATED: Candidates Jill Karofsky and Joni Anderson in Green Lake on Saturday, Jan. 4, to address Green Lake County Dems & Friends

Dane County Judge Jill Karofsky, seeking to replace conservative Judge Daniel Kelly on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and Joni Anderson, a candidate to replace incumbent 14th District State Senator Luther Olsen (R-Ripon), will address the Green Lake County Dems & Friends meeting on Saturday, Jan. 4,  2020, at the Caestecker Public Library in Green Lake.

The meeting starts at 10 a.m., and as are all of the organization’s meetings, is open to the public.

Karofsky, in the photo above, Kelly, and Ed Fallone, a Marquette University Law School professor, will face off in a primary election on Feb.18.

Fallone will be a speaker at our Feb. meeting, on Saturday, Feb. 1. The two top vote getters in April will then battle in November for a seat on the state’s top court.

The election is billed as a nonpartisan race, but Karofsky and Fallone are receiving strong support from Democrats and progressives, while Kelly, a conservative who was appointed to the bench by former Republican Gov. Scott Walker, is a favorite of the Republican Party.

Anderson, and Nate Zimdars, who announced his candidacy last week for the 14th State Senate seat, will oppose each in a Democratic primary on Aug. 11, not in April as originally reported. Olsen, currently not being challenged on the Republican side, will face the winner of the Democratic primary in November.
