They did it. Both chambers of the Virginia General Assembly passed the Equal Rights Amendment today (Wednesday), making the state the 38th state to approve the amendment. The historic vote fulfilled a promise Democrats made to voters in the state that if Dems took control of the General Assembly they’d pass the amendment, which they did today. In Virginia, the vote is not final as each chamber has to approve the other Chamber’s version of the legislation. Observers, however, feel that is just a formality.
