Rep. Glenn Grothman has signed on to a bill introduced–again–in the House of Representatives that would end the practice of granting citizenship status to children born in the United States whose parents are not U.S. citizens. King has introduced the bill five times without success. It has 20 cosponsors, including our representative in the House. One of the bill’s champions is President Donald Trump, who may decide to bypass Congress and issue an executive order changing the current law. Here is an article on the proposed action by the President. If Trump did issue the executive order, it would be challenged in court as being a violation of the constitution.
