Rep. Glenn Grothman did not need a glass of water when he spoke ;ast year at a Town Hall in Fond du Lac.

Our guy in Congress, Rep. Glenn Grothman, stole the show at the recent GOP state convention in Green Bay when he launched into a coughing fit that his staff quickly said had nothing to do with COVID-19, but was instead due to a dry throat and his need for a glass of water.

Grothman, who is up for reelection this fall and is unopened in the Republican partisan primary on Aug. 11, was one of the speakers at the convention, which, according to the Journal Sentinel attracted about 300 of the GOP faithful to the in-person event.

As expected, many of those in attendance did not wear masks or practice social distancing: Here is what the Journal Sentinel article said: “Despite health officials’ warnings against large gatherings, Wisconsin Republicans went ahead with their in-person convention on Saturday. The attendees sat close together, mostly without face masks, providing a stark contrast to Democrats, who turned their state convention into an entirely virtual event.”
