Social distrancing was the rule for the July 4 monthly meeting of the Green Lake County Dems & Friends. The event was held outdoors at the home of chair Linda Wilkens. Candidate Matt Boor is shown above addressing the group.

It was a bit of an experiment, but it seemed to go well. On Saturday, July 4, the Green Lake County Dems & Friends held its monthly meeting. But instead of the usual in-person meeting at the Caestecker Public Library in Green Lake, the group met at the home of chair Linda Wilkens. Attendees had two options: attend via zoom, or in person wearing masks and practicing social distancing.

At the meeting, attendees heard from Matt Boor, a Dem running for the 6th Congressional District seat now held by incumbent Republican Rep. Glenn Grothman. The meeting was also an opportunity for people to pick up yard signs for Dems who are on the Aug. 3 ballot: Joni Anderson (14th Senate District), Nate Zimdars (41st Assembly District), Matt Boor, Michael Beardsley, and Jessica King (6th Congressional District).

The next meeting is Saturday, Aug. 1 at a location to be determined.
