Nate Zimdars, now running for the 41st Assembly District, spoke to a recent meeting of the Green Lake County Dems & Friends.

Nate Zimdars has officially announced that he will run for the 41st State Assembly seat being vacated by Joan Ballweg. Zimdars made the announcement Wednesday afternoon, April 1, during a Facebook Live session.

Earlier, Zimdars, of Ripon, indicated he would run for the 14th State Senate seat being vacated by Luther Olsen. But this was before Olsen announced he was not running for reelection. Olsen’s announcement, in February of this year, set in motion a series of changes to the local political landscape as Ballweg then said she would then run for Olsen’s post in the Wisconsin Senate.

Zimdars so far is the only announced candidate running as a Democrat for the Assembly seat. Alex Dallman, who works for 6th District Congressman Glen Grothman, and who serves as the Green Lake County Republican party chairperson, is the only Republican to announce for the 41st Assembly District.

If things stay the same, Zimdars and Dallman would be on the ballot in November. If there are additional candidates that would force a partisan primary in August.
